TIER 2 SUMMARY

Below is the summary of the growth and drop averages for Tier 2.  REMEMBER:  These are only averages and your experience in the game may be different.

The "Growth Rate" is the percentage you can expect to grow when you are planting seeds and breaking the blocks you harvest.  So with BLACK BRICK, the growth rate is 1.28 or 28%.  This means that if you plant 10 seeds, harvest the trees, and break all those blocks, you will most likely end up with about 12.8 seeds.

The "Gem Yield" is about how many gems you can expect to get when you plant a seed and break all the blocks from that tree.

Lava Background is pretty easy to get going after you purchase the Sand Pack and get some Sandy Cave Wall growing.  It has a seed yield of 1.3 per seed and a gem yield of  1.6 so an average Tier 2 item.

IS IT WORTH FARMING?

Yes, yes it is!  This is your very best low-level gem maker at 2.5 gems per seed.  Magic Stuff can be hard to get started because Obsidian is hard to find and hard to break.  Either go grow some Obsidian from the Rock Pack in the Shop or trade for some Magic Stuff blocks or seeds.  It grows in 1 minute and 27 seconds and has a seed yield of 1.4... not the most productive block but it adds up quickly.  As soon as you get this farming well, you will have a ton of magic stuff blocks.  Not only will you be producing gems, you can usually find buyers for it among other players.  This is one way to work toward your World Locks!  Magic stuff seeds are valuable and important for advancing to crossbreeding more complex items so farm a lot of it.

IS IT WORTH FARMING?
Grass is one of those items that will just keep on giving.  At 926 average blocks per tree, you are never going to run out of grass.  The seed yield is only 1.3, but because you are getting so many blocks out of each tree, you end up getting a lot to work with.  This is a background block that can lay on top of other backgrounds.  Grass seeds crossbreed to pretty important items in Pixel Worlds so build up a good stock!

Glass Block is hard to get going but easy to keep farming after you get a decent start.  At 1.2 seed yield per seed, it takes a while to gather enough seed for a good planting, and the gem yield is only 1.9 per seed so not good for money either.  It's a great block for displaying your items and an ingredient in many great blocks so well worth the effort to gather enough to have a stock.

Black Brick is at about the same level of farming as Marble... it might be a bit slow going at first with our seed formula showing it have a very low seed yield, averaging only 1.3 seed per seed planted.  It will give you about 2 gems per seed planted so not good for raising money either.  After you get it going though, you should be able to farm enough Black Brick for all your building and crossbreeding needs.

TIER 2

Tier 2 items are made from crossbreeding 

the seeds of Tier 1 items.  

This tier is where you start seeing "wearables," items to change the appearance of your little avatar.  Wearables cannot be broken and are not used in any recipes.  Keep the ones you don't want and sell them or trade them for new stuff!  Donate them to noobs!  Do giveaways!
